Yoga high

Many years ago, I ran or jogged for exercise. Afterwards, I would sometimes experience a "runner's high." When I began practicing yoga, I'd never heard the term "yoga high" but I now know it exists - and it's even better.

Yoga and meditation stimulate your brain & body's chemicals and neurotransmitters. If we could measure these before and after a yoga session, it would be easier to explain or understand. There is even some discussion out there about it triggering our body's endo-cannabinoid system.

I would describe a yoga high as feeling calm and relaxed but simultaneously euphoric, energetic, alert, and more perceptive.

... My list of benefits of a yoga practice and things I want to learn more about continues to grow...
