Hot yoga studios use radiant heating systems to bring the room temperature up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity up to 40%.
I realize this is not for everyone but I find these benefits:
FLEXIBILITY. I do feel I can reach poses more deeply and oftentimes I feel some of my chronic aches & pains are alleviated for a day or two after.
SWEATING. Science may not support that perspiring is detoxifying, but I personally feel detoxified after hot yoga.
FEELING STRONG. Perhaps it is the feeling of endurance or accomplishment to finish something outside my comfort zone.
I've been going once a week, but if my schedule allowed - I would go at least twice. And I always take care to enter well-hydrated and bear in mind to avoid over-stretching - which could lead to injury.
